Suomen Hyötytuuli Oy has already piloted the functioning and durability of the offshore power turbine in practice for five years. The pilot offshore wind turbine in Pori Tahkoluoto was the first offshore wind turbine to be constructed in demanding ice conditions and it has been used as a test turbine for the entire offshore wind power industry in Finland. The turbine has enabled the collection of information for large scale offshore wind power construction. Suomen Hyötytuuli has tested, for example, various alternatives for arranging maintenance visits in various conditions.
