In 1999, Suomen Hyötytuuli constructed Finland’s first industrial-scale wind turbines in the Meri-Pori area in Pori.
The wind conditions in Reposaari wind park are excellent as the average wind speed is about 7.3 meters per second. The wind turbines have been installed in the port and the industrial area close to existing infrastructure in good co-operation with the residents and industry in the area.
Today, the wind farm has ten wind turbines: one at the tip of Reposaari, three at the tip of Tahkoluoto, and three 1 MW wind turbines, which were built in 1999, are located along the Reposaari road.
One 2 MW wind turbine, which was built in 2002, is located at the tip of Tahkoluoto.
In the beginning of 2015, two 3,3 MW wind turbines were completed in Kirrinsanta area, situated on the property of Technip Offshore Finland Oy.
The Reposaari wind farm produces about 55 GWh of electricity per year. This corresponds to the annual electricity consumption of about 27,500 one-bedroom apartments.
