Suomen Hy\u00f6tytuuli Oy will purchase Mets\u00e4hallitus\u2019 share of the Annankangas wind farm in Raahe. Suomen Hy\u00f6tytuuli and Mets\u00e4hallitus have jointly been developing a wind farm of 10 wind turbines in an area in the eastern part of the City of Raahe, with Hy\u00f6tytuuli owning 5 of the turbines. Mets\u00e4hallitus and Hy\u00f6tytuuli will foresee the finalization of the permit process together.
\nThe operating principle of the Mets\u00e4hallitus Laatumaa is to develop areas suitable for wind turbines while minimizing the environmental effects.
\n\u201cThe strategy of Mets\u00e4hallitus focuses on creating investment opportunities for wind power. Building of wind power reflects positively on the local business, thus benefiting the whole community, as well\u201d says Ms Heli Harjula, Wind Power Specialist of Mets\u00e4hallitus.
\nA pioneer in its field, Suomen Hy\u00f6tytuuli has nearly 20 years of experience in Finnish wind power. The company is owned by eight mid-size Finnish energy companies.
\n\u201cSuomen Hy\u00f6tytuuli\u2019s capacity target is to have 400 MW more of clean domestic energy from wind power. Hy\u00f6tytuuli already has one wind farm in operation in Kuljunniemi, Raahe. Gaining full ownership of the Annankangas wind farm supports our growth target in the best possible way\u201d, comments Ms Miia Wall\u00e9n, Project Development Manager of Suomen Hy\u00f6tytuuli.
\nThe Annankangas wind farm is located in full within the area of the City of Raahe, at a distance of about 26 km from the town center.
