The planning of the Perho Kokkoneva wind farm project has begun
Suomen Hyötytuuli is planning a wind farm in Kokkoneva, Perho. The municipality of Perho is located in the province of Central Ostrobothnia. The area planned for the wind farm is located in the eastern part of the village of Oksakoski, just over three kilometres northwest of the Perho town centre. The total area is approximately 3,000 hectares. The regional land use plan for Central Ostrobothnia designates the area as a wind farm area.
The wind farm planned for the Kokkoneva area will consist of 30–40 wind turbines with a height of up to 300 metres and a unit capacity of about 7–10 MW.
The environmental impact assessment (EIA) procedure and zoning process will begin in early 2021. According to preliminary plans, the construction of the wind farm will take place in 2025–2026.
Suomen Hyötytuuli is also implementing the Alajoki-Peuralinna wind farm project near the Kokkoneva area, which involves building a total of 14 wind turbines in the municipalities of Perho and Kyyjärvi. The construction of the Alajoki-Peuralinna wind farm will start in 2021, and the wind farm is expected to be fully operational in 2022.
