The future is in the air, energy in the wind.

The future is in the air, energy in the wind.

The future is in the air, energy in the wind.

As a forerunner in wind power production, Suomen Hyötytuuli participates in preventing climate change by producing clean and renewable energy. Wind power production generates no emissions to air, water or soil. The use of wind power increases Finland’s independence in energy production from imported fossil fuels and electricity. For the benefit of us all.

We invest in long-term collaboration with all of our company’s value network. We are known as a modern and reliable operator who takes care of their wind farms during all of their life-cycle from project development and construction to production, maintenance and dismantling, in a safe way that respects the environment and the nature. Responsibly both on land and at sea.

Current energy production

For a sustainable future

Our company produces clean, competitive and responsible wind power for its shareholders in seven wind farms (in total 225 MW) in Pori, Kalajoki, Raahe and Pyhäjoki. In addition, we are currently constructing three wind farms and have several development projects in different areas in Finland. Yearly, our current wind farms produce approximately a total of 750 GWh, and the amount will rise up to 1.9 TWh in the near future. The energy we produce is delivered to Finnish households and industry by our shareholders, eight Finnish energy companies. In a cost-effective and market-based way.

37 500 times the amount of energy needed yearly for an electrically heated detached house (approximately 20 000 kWh per year)

A forerunner in wind power production - respecting the environment and the nature

We have pioneered in developing local wind power for over 20 years.

  1. We were the first to introduce megawatt-scale wind turbines in Finland in 1999.
  2. We built the world’s first frozen sea area wind farm in Tahkoluoto, Pori, in 2017.
  3. We actively use new technologies and support research projects. An example of our own innovations is the bird radar, which we developed for the Tahkoluoto wind farm, in order to minimize the potential effects of the offshore wind power on birdlife, especially the lesser black-backed gull and the white-tailed eagle.
  4. We take care of our wind farms throughout their life-cycle from project development and construction to production, maintenance and dismantling.
